„Intellectual Property Rights Related to Works Authored in Ghettos and Concentration Camps“.

The Chair for Public Law and International Law (Prof. Dr. Thilo Marauhn) cordially invites you to the one-day conference „Intellectual Property Rights Related to Works Authored in Ghettos and Concentration Camps“:
Art can be an emotional escape, and the exhibition “Trace of Life” shows this power by presenting the creations of some of the 1.5 million children murdered in the Holocaust. This exhibition also tells a copyright story, which is part of our cooperation partner Prof. Lior Zemer’s academic legal research. The copyright ownership in works of art, drama, music, and literature created by Jewish prisoners in Nazi concentration camps is an underrepresented topic discussed in academic legal research to date. This conference, organized by the Chair for Public Law and International Law (JLU Giessen), will open new ground in this field by inviting different experts who will talk about their research. In addition, the conference will deepen the research by discussing the question of ownership in
an interdisciplinary scope.
The organizers would like to thank the Juristische Studiengesellschaft Gießen e.V. (Friends of the School of Law, Justus Liebig University Gießen) for supporting this event.
